No, unfortunately, phone manufacturers have restrictions in place for privacy reasons making this not possible. As a workaround, you can place your phone near a Bluetooth speaker or other music source.

Ensure you are using the latest Gemstone Lights app with the Hub2 controller. Also, confirm that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Gemstone Lights system.
Currently, the Music Sync feature is only available for individual devices and cannot be used with a device group. However, we welcome your feedback if this is a feature you’d like to see in the future!
Welcome to Music Sync by Gemstone Lights! With Music Sync, your Gemstone Lights come alive, dancing to the rhythm of your favorite tunes.
Note: Before beginning, ensure:
- You are connected to the same WiFi network as the device.
- Microphone permissions are enabled for the app.
Important: You cannot play music on your phone and use it as a microphone simultaneously. As a workaround, place your phone near a Bluetooth speaker or other music source.
Steps to Use Music Sync:
- Open the app.
- Tap on your device.
- Tap on Music.
- If it’s your first time using Music Sync, the app will prompt you to enable microphone permissions.
- Tap on a music pattern to play it.
Exploring Music Sync:
- At the top, you’ll see your “Now Playing” music pattern.
- Below it, you’ll find prebuilt music patterns. More music patterns and the ability to create custom patterns are coming soon!
Using Music Sync:
- To switch music patterns, tap on another option.
- To enable or disable a music pattern, use the toggle switch.
- When a music pattern is enabled, you’ll see reactive EQ bars indicating microphone input.
Now, put on your favorite song near your phone and enjoy watching your Gemstone Lights dance to the rhythm of your music!
